– Although the economy still appears to be in recession, the online channel experienced impressive growth. This was shown by the figures presented in the ICEcat Online Channel Update of 18th May for the first four months of 2010. The recovery is clearly shown by an average growth of 104% compared to the same period in 2009. One of the biggest winners is Trust. With growth of 223%, Trust is one of the top 3 companies that have experience the largest growth in the category of fast movers.
The ICEcat figures are based on 239 million datasheet downloads for products from 3,642 different electronics brands from more than 10,000 online channel partners. ICEcat CEO, Martijn Hoogeveen, said that these figures prove that the recession is over for the online channel. Particularly since the online channel has not experienced negative growth during these difficult economic times, many brands now consider the Internet to be a serious channel, explained Hoogeveen on blogger.com.
